The Gumi family gathers again for the third annual Gumi Appreciation night, for (what we think) will be one of the best holiday parties you will attend this year. Try all the sake, shochu, and whisky to your heart's content while nibbling on Chef Kei's delectable creations. Gumi Appreciation night is our annual THANK YOU to all of the members who keep things dynamic, lively, and fun all year at Umami Mart. Thank you for enjoying our selections, saddling up to our bar, and keeping us going for another year! Your membership keeps our small business inspired and community thriving.

In the past 12 years, the Gumi family has grown to include Shochu Gumi and Whisky Gumi. With over 250 members, our Gumunity (goo-mew-ni-tee) is stronger than ever.

Our first annual event was a festive gala and a heartwarming affair that kicked off the holiday shopping season with a bang.

Join us this year as we close the store to the public from 5-7pm for a super special members-only event on Saturday, November 28.

A night of discounted shopping for members only: Get all your shopping done early with 20% off the entire store during this time!*

Members will enjoy complimentary drinks, all while having access to everything in our shop at a discount! Check off everyone on that list – yeah!

Try all the drinks, for FREE! Yoko, Kayoko and the Umami Mart staff will be pouring sake, shochu and whisky to commemorate our members who span three dynamic clubs: Sake Gumi, Shochu Gumi, Whisky Gumi. Get to know everyone in the clubs!

Eat Casa de Kei's food: Our favorite brother, Casa de Kei, will be providing us with scrumptious Japa-Cali snacks to pair with sake, shochu, and whisky. Light snacks will be complimentary throughout the event.

The dress code is Gumi Glam!

Take advantage of this annual perk that will be a chance to sip, socialize, and shop. We can't wait to see everyone's faces and catch up on all of the holiday happenings with y'all.

Want to join in on this exclusive event? You need to be a part of one of the clubs! Sign up by Nov 15, 2026 to attend.
